We had a telephone call from a woman who required to find out exactly where her husband was. He had left her as well as the kids but had not given her a forwarding address. She told us that although he came to see their young children as soon as a week he didn’t give her any funds for them and with no an address for him she could not give his particulars to the CSA. He had changed his job when he left and she didn't know where he was working now. The only time she knew exactly where he was was when he came to see the children.
We decided that to discover exactly where he was living and operating we must fit a tracking device to his car. This would tell us exactly where he was staying and exactly where he was operating. The automobile belonged to our client so we could fit the device when he next came to check out the young children. We suggested the device should remain on the car for two weeks. This would ensure an excellent pattern of movements from the automobile.
We discovered the details within the first week and having a few follow up telephone calls confirmed the details was appropriate. We removed the device soon after two weeks and our client could give the information to the CSA. Our client then decided she wanted to know if he was cohabitating with another woman. We carried out surveillance on the property address we had found for him. Following 3 sessions of six hour slots we had adequate evidence of cohabitation for our client to take to her solicitor.
We have since found out that she has filed for divorce on the ground of adultery and that he left her for this new woman. He has had to pay all the arrears from the CSA.
